Salary: £30,633.33 actual per annum for 35 hours

Fresh Futures is a regional charity working with vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and their families, within Kirklees and surrounding areas. We are thoughts leaders and together with partners, we deliver outcomes through four interwoven strands of activity – providing education services and facilities, building healthy relationships, promoting health and wellbeing and improving employability skills

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available within Fresh Futures’ Business Support Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing and overseeing the business requirements of the charity to support our mission.

Why the role exists and overall responsibility

  • To maximise the financial contribution & the social impact from the use of the buildings to support the charity’s work
  • To manage the Business Support Administrative team to ensure effective and high-quality administration for the running and promotion of Fresh Futures Services.
  • To ensure that the charity has a warm and welcoming culture which is backed by effective business support. Managing relationships with both building users and tenants.
  • To ensure that the administrative team take a services wide approach to the delivery of administrative tasks.

Main activities

Charity Business Development

  • To lead on the development and creativity of the use of all our buildings, to maximise incomes and community engagement.
  • Managing relationships with tenants, creating new lease agreements annually, managing rent changes, new tenants, tenants leaving.
  • To create and monitor a warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all who engage with the Charity, naturing a respectful and listening culture without judgement.
  • To ensure that the charity has a comprehensive and rigorous business and administration structure and process that supports the charity’s needs for day to day running and future development.

People management

  • To manage the Business Support Assistant, Business Support Admin team and volunteers, their recruitment, training, supervision, and performance
  • To ensure that any necessary training and qualifications needed by team members to carry out their duty is provided and/or maintained
  • To monitor employee and volunteer welfare and wellbeing and provide support as required
  • To set and monitor team and individual targets and address issues accordingly
  • To deliver high quality administrative services to service users and manage and address any issues or complaints relating to administrative roles
  • To ensure recognition of team members within Fresh Futures and the community
  • To be responsible for own professional development and ensure knowledge, skills and networks remain current

Knowledge, training and experience required

  • Previous line management experience
  • Ability to manage workload and be able to prioritise effectively.
  • Be professional, well organised, and proactive in forward planning.
  • Maintaining high level of standards and service whilst working under pressure
  • Ability to complete all duties to a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent general administration and clerical skills
  • Confident using Microsoft office packages.
  • Previous experience in Business Administration
